Shrimply Delicious Rock Shrimp!
Our Rock Shrimp is sold with the full shell in our Seafood Market.
Splitting and cleaning Rock Shrimp is fairly easy. If the head is still on simply hold the rock shrimp in one hand and snap the head at the joint.
Place the Rock Shrimp on a cutting board shell side down exposing the underbelly.
You can use a pair of scissors or a knife and cut through the middle until you reach the exterior shell. Once the shrimp is open remove the vein and grit from the center.
Rock Shrimp is best broiled, brush or pour a small amount of melted margarine mixed with a small amount of melted butter on each rock shrimp.
To broil: Place shrimp about 1/4 of an inch apart from each other on a cookie sheet or broiler pan. Broil for 2 - 5 minutes or until the meat turns white. Serve with melted butter.
Tastes similar to lobster, spectacular!
